What is it?
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. When we experience situations and trauma's in our lives, our bodies "store" the negative emotions connected to that event around our bodies, often near major organs. Over time, these emotions can have a cumulative effect on our health and well being. EFT can release these emotions thus improving the life of the person concerned. Think of it as striking a match - once it has been lit that match can not then be re-lit. It is the same with our negative emotions, once we have dealt with it, that particular emotion will be gone and will no longer be stored in our bodies. The memory of the event or trauma will still be there but there will no longer be any negative emotion linked to it.
How does it work?
By tapping with the fingertips on certain meridian points around the body, but mainly on the face and hands, it is possible to release the stored negative emotions - think of it as a kind of acupuncture but without the needles. It is a simple but powerful technique which often gets results when nothing else works.
What can it be used for?
EFT can be used with practically any issue! It is extremely effective when dealing with phobias - the root cause of some phobias can turn out to be unrelated to the actual phobia itself!
